Meet the Author

Lisa Brotz is a Wisconsin-based author, humane educator, and lifelong advocate for animals.

A third-generation equestrian with a passion for Icelandic horses, she lives on Northstar Farm with her fiancée and seventeen animals, whose personalities and antics often inspire her work. In fact, other than an alien showing up, much of the Camp Gallivant trilogy grew directly from real experiences on her hobby farm.

When she is not writing, Lisa can be found walking the dogs, horseback riding, practicing yoga, cooking plant-based meals, or dreaming up scavenger hunts and new adventures.

Shaped by rural life in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and inspired by the landscapes and seasonal rhythms of the Great Lakes region, Lisa creates restorative stories that blend the fantastical with the familiar, inviting readers to discover the magic woven through nature and everyday life.
